I Scored A Goal!

Quin and I are on a city league indoor soccer team. The two of us are not great, but it is good exercise. We play for an hour on Saturday evenings at a rec center. We are sponsored by Quin's work and all have matching jerseys. Tonight I scored my first goal ever!!! I have been playing soccer since I was in Kindergarten and am not very good. So I am not bragging when I say I scored, I am expressing my amazement! It was pretty cool though. We'll try to post some pics later.

Amanda's Visit

The week after Rachel visited, Amanda came down with Evelyn and Amanda's old roommate and friend of Quin, Ashley, and Ashley's son Sean. They drove down Friday before conference and went home Monday. They stayed for a short time, but it was so fun to see them. We took the camera everywhere we went, but of course only got a few pictures.

Evelyn wasn't too keen on the helmet, but she sure looked cute!

On Saturday, we got up and went to the mall. Amanda got a ride on Quin's motorcycle and had a blast! We shopped for a while and then came home.

Ashley and Sean

We went to this awesome ice cream parlor called Dewar's and all got a treat. It was great!

My friend Stacie loaned us this Pack n Play, Evelyn loved holding on to it and walking around.

Quin fed Evelyn a lemon, at first she seemed to not know what to think. Quin's family loves lemons with salt on them. I think they are bad for your enamel. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

Sunday we watched conference and laid around the house. We were sad to see them go, but were so glad they came. That's a long ride for a very short trip.

Rachel's visit

I would be a horrible friend if I failed to mention that one of my best friends came to town the last week of March. I would not have been able to get married if Rachel hadn't been there to help me she was such a blessing (she even brought treats to the temple so we wouldn't die, a brilliant idea on her part) and has been a great friend since. The first Sunday Quin and I went to our ward I sat down in Relief Society and started talking to some of the women there. It turns out that the lady I sat next to happened to be Rachel's grandma. It's a small world. Rachel's husband came down for a conference in LA and she came with him. She took the bus to Bakersfield and stayed with her grandma. It was great to see her and spend some time with her. I am really bad at taking pictures, so of course I didn't get any, but here is a picture from our wedding of the two of us.

I BEAT MY HIGH SCORE

So much has happened since we last posted, Amanda came to visit, Quin went on a bike ride, I was in charge of a huge awesome dance, I went to Utah for Women's Conference at BYU. So what am I going to post about? I beat my high score on Spider Solitaire. I set my score a year ago and it has taken me this long to beat it. A perfect score is 96 moves but sometimes the computer lays the cards exactly where you want them, saving you a move. My high score was 95 moves and now it is 93 moves. So for those of you who wonder what I do all day, wonder no more.
